What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?

I always dreamed of working in the media, wether as an entertainer or dancer. I enjoyed making up my own choreographies and presenting my made up TV Shows, haha.

What is the earliest memory you have?

The earliest memory I have is me being at the pediatrician and choking on a sweet that I swallowed. Luckily it was right in the doctors office and she “saved” me. I must have been about 3 years old.

Do you think it is possible to be fully ready for a baby?

I actually don’t think anyone is fully ready for a baby. I guess when your pregnant the first realization is, that your life is going to change drastically and there is this fear of maybe loosing freedom and loosing oneself. Being a mother is something you have not done before and the first year is so overwhelming and full of emotions you never would have expected anything like that.

What do you look for in baby clothes?

I love clothing that doesn’t scream “toddler”. Most baby/toddler clothing have animal prints, funny sayings and are just very childlike. We like a rather “minimalistic” approach. Just plain T-Shirts and pants. They also should be easy to wash, because my little boy loves to eat and always gets his clothes messy.

What do you like about Yay For You?

YAY for you is just what I like, the clean cuts, the colors and the babies still look super cute in them. (Doesn’t have to have a cute rabbit on it to make it cute)

What is your favorite piece from YFY?

I have two! Definitely the Ernie in Yellow Grid and the Andy in black.

What type of traditions do you hope to make for your baby/children?

Well we haven’t really thought about that. I think our little traditions will definitely come whilst he is growing up. We just have this thing, that when we go on Holiday, we buy a traditional children’s book from the place we visited for him. We thought it could be a nice memory for him and for us.

What is one tradition you remember from your childhood?

Sunday was always our family day with a lovely home cooked Sundays roast and we would spend time together, sining karaoke, listening to music and dancing - it was never quiet in our house.

What is one thing you learned from your pregnancies or from motherhood?

To trust your body and your intuition. Especially in pregnancy it was important for me to listen to what my body wanted. There is so much growth you go through as a person in the first year of your baby. You learn so much about yourself and about your partner, you really evolve in every stage of your baby.
